Last week I did something that didn’t happend since…years!

I worked every evening of the week on NetRush, with almost no procrastination. O__O/

That’s a very good thing for the project and for me as I feel my personal projects going forward and  in the right direction. I think that working on graphical stuff (like procedural movements – everywhere in NetRush) helped me “start” working each evening instead of asking myself if I should recover from my working day first before getting back to programming again. Breaking procrastination is often about getting to really start the hard work, and having already done hard work all the day long don’t help starting another work the same day.

It’s easier with graphic programming because the feedback -errors or not- is often almost immediate. You get faster the feeling of getting things done than in game behavior and AI code, for example. It become pleasant when you managed to program your code base with flexibility, making all the game code easy to change, move around and do want you wanted it to do. After having worked on build scripts, cross-platform prevention (often by over-pessimization…) and other non-really-game but necessary code, that’s really refreshing.

However, yesterday I did a break in my spare time game programming rush. I spent all the evening working on a web application test (for a little project idea I might talk about soon). The feeling is the same : web applications are often all about displaying information and it also mean immediate feedback. It have been a long time since I used HTML/Javascript and I had to search often to get things right but I managed to almost complete the test I wanted to do. It feels really good : the project idea I have might help lot of creative people and the test I did prove that that idea seems totally right.

More on that project and on NetRush very soon!

Some exceptional personal words : I love you all!

I’ll draw today a rough picture of the current state of the NetRush game project, that is my main “big” (for a one man team) game project. I did the same already a few years ago (1.2 exactly) on the previous NetRush Development Blog. Lot of time passed since then.
